He must be VERY sure that Romney's not going to win.

Seaside Heights aerial video is showing sand filled streets 6-7 blocks in from the house that are destroyed. What a mess.

Seeing images of families with small kids that did not evacuate mandatory evac areas - they are making me pretty ragey.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I saw part of an interview with the mayor of ... Trenton? he was angry that Chris Christie was accusing him of having encouraged people to stay in local shelters rather than evacuating and, from the context, sounded like state disaster assistance would be withheld.

In DC they're talking about starting up public transit soon - starting at 2:00, a short while ago - with limited service on a Sunday schedule. Seemingly, rail service may be limited to the underground portions of the system.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Trenton?

oh yeah Christie was fuming at the press conferences last night. The thing about Christie, he doesn't have much of a filter.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ION, why did it not occur to me until now that if Target has so many clothes online-only, that that would be true of other products as well? I've been wanting a new shower curtain, and haven't been able to find one, but I think this might be it! [link]

I feel like telling my right wingy friends in the city to be good free-market guys and charge people to use their electricity and/or facilities.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

People in the comments of the Christie article seem to think that as soon as the federal check clears, Christie will go back to attacking Obama.

It seems unlikely that he could go back on those strongly worded statements, but I have seen lying in this Presidential race that has been absolutely unprecedented, so perhaps Christie will join the fray.

Like msbelle said, Christie doesn't really have a filter. He's got a history of saying whatever the hell he feels like saying. Usually I disagree with him, but I can't really remember him ever outright lying, or saying things he didn't mean in order to get onto someone's good side politically, so I don't really see him starting that now.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

People in the comments of the Christie article seem to think that as soon as the federal check clears, Christie will go back to attacking Obama.

The check is coming either way, so I doubt that's his motivation. I do think this will be short-lived, but it's a startling development.

Bottom line, for all his legion of faults Christie sees himself as too much of a maverick and straight shooter to fling the bullshit no matter what he personally thinks the way many prominent republicans now do.
