Relevant to the interest of some here... K-Bug has a new boy and he was over last evening. After having a beer, she started to explain Fernet to him and dared him to take a shot. He was curious but agreed after I said I'd do a shot too. He loved it! Heeee. He also seemed to survive an evening with CJ and me... Will see if he makes the cut to boyfriend level.

Yeah, you want things you can consume without electricity. I'd get bread, granola bars, lots of fruit, juice?, water. Caffeinated drinks?
I lost power for 3 days when a hurricane hit us and I have no idea what I ate...there was power in other parts of town, so I suspect I went out.
Shelf stable indian!
So anyone want to go to the UK with me this spring? I need a f**k*ng vacation and I'm at the point where I just need to make a plan and do it. Planning w. someone else would force me to commit. The idea in my head is a few days in London and a week in the west of Ireland.
oh and lots of batteries.
fill everything possible with water until the storm hits.
Is there danger of the gas going out?
FWIW, you also may want to have a plan in case power is out for 7+ days. Have supplies on hand for 3+ days, but then figure out what you will do after that in case.
Sue, I counter your offer of the UK with the temptation of msbelle family vacation to Disney World. 3 generations of various types of crazy and giant society accepted CosPlay.

Empty my fridge and leave the country.
Can I counter counter with Alaska?
I love unpacking! Hate packing, but unpacking is like organizing from scratch, it's awesome!
I don't want to go to the UK (well, in theory if I had unlimited time and money), but if anyone wants to hit up Mexico with me this Feb/Mar, I've had a great time the past couple years and would love to go again. I think last year I spent ~$500 for a week renting a house that slept 4 and had its own pool (so imagine that split between four people...)
