We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

As we used to say in consulting, you have to pick two out of these three: cheap, fast, and good. You can't have them all, and anyone who claims so is lying.

I have accomplished shoppage, although I need to go back out and get carrots and canned pineapple for the carrot cake. But, classically, my dad called while I was in the car, and he's all spun up because the damned pharmacist gave him all sorts of warnings about the meds. And then he went online and he's all worried about the meds and the psychiatrist.

I think I talked him down, reminded him how awful he was feeling and how agitated Mom has been, and that the Klonopin is the same basic drug as the Xanax, just longer-lasting. And I don't care what some jackasses on Yelp have to say about the doctor. He came recommended and seemed pretty professional to me.

So I think the crisis is averted, but my god, it was nearly noon and Mom hadn't taken her morning meds. This is why they need fulltime help.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OH THANK GOODNESS. I was expecting a piece of good news all week, and it kept not coming, and it finally came! But it got delivered to the wrong department, so I didn't get it until just now. Now I can go.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Good news is good.

Gave a presentation at a meeting. Now I don't have to do anything else the rest of the day, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did I mention the part where we're not deploying this weekend?

Well, we're not. I get a Sunday night to myselfthe ER, so that's...whatever, but sheeIT.

One of the vendors came to me and said it would have been better if I'd shown her a project plan. Really? The email saying I need X,Y,Z with diagrams and then the meeting, and the mutually agreed upon due date is not enough for you to know when something needs to be done by? If she gets all "Oh, and another thing!" in the lessons learnt meeting, I will go off on her and her engineer who makes rely #30 in an email chain saying "I thought this was due Monday?" when the email #1 says "This is due Friday." They didn't actually finish delivery until Thursday, if you don't count the installations today and Monday. And why would you? I didn't show her my project plan.

I've been working to a team-level and a person-level project plan the whole time. She can fucking write down her 3 due dates and not whine about a lack of dates handed to her in the preferred formats, or too many different email subject lines (god forbid I should want to email her on a different subject). I might lose a work pal here, but SERIOUSLY.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Seriously, seriously.

Okay, I did take a nap. I don't know if it helped, though. I think I'm the kind of tired you can't sleep off.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I seem to have a sinus infection. Stabbing pain in my left under eye sinus and green snot. Why does the doctor's office want to see me...please just write a scrip and get me out of pain.

With my paycheck to day, I have officially paid off one of my creditors. I ended up with all the debt post-divorce. I have one credit card on a no-interest payment plan, a bank loan that just got paid off today, and my student loans. Gonna save up some money for the holidays and a new washer/dryer, then roll the freed up money onto my student loans. Woot!!!!
