Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh.

I am trying to organize a weight loss pool/accountability thing with som ladies at work. It is something afew of us were talking about doing. I want to lose 17-25 lbs by the late spring, but 10-15 is probably more realistic. I hope it doesn't get weird and that we can get a group going.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So on the NYT website, I often read the comments, even when they outrage me. This one, about contraception, made me laugh:

Republicans want to shrink government. They want it to be small enough to fit inside a uterus.

So true.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Republicans want to shrink government. They want it to be small enough to fit inside a uterus.

Isn't that a West Wing quote?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's certainly used a lot. Pithy.

Man, I impulse bought some peach blossom white tea,and I can't be mad at myself. Kinda gross when overbrewed, so I might not keep it at work, because I can never pay attention to steep times there, but it is aMAYzing when done right. I love this flowery shit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys my favorite thing I saw yesterday: The guy in line in front of me at CVS was carrying a bag from the fancy-food store, and buying condoms. Planning a good evening! I love when you can tell a story from someone's purchases.
