Huh, just reading up on the Tuberculosis vaccine -- not only is it effective partly based on geography (it seems the closer you get to the equator, the less protection it offers) but it has been found to help with such diverse diseases as diabetes and MS.

Also -- what I find kind of charming -- is that it's based on Cow Tuberculosis, much like the smallpox vaccine was based on cowpox.
US is one of the few countries that don't vaccinate for it. With the rise of antibiotic-resistant tuberculosis, I'm beginning to think we should reconsider that.

Oh, hey--does anyone "get" this piece of art: [link] ? Their schtick seems to be "1 gruesome degree off normal", but I can't see what that degree is from those pictures. I could imagine, given the title, that the trophies are filled with said....contents, but I don't know for sure.
I can't tell from the contents either.
Is it a comment on what the trophies are celebrating?
From last night-- GO GRACE!! That is wonderful

I am trying to organize a weight loss pool/accountability thing with som ladies at work. It is something afew of us were talking about doing. I want to lose 17-25 lbs by the late spring, but 10-15 is probably more realistic. I hope it doesn't get weird and that we can get a group going.
