this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hey, if the heels set off an nice outfit, that's great. I was mostly thinking if the whole outfit is fugly, you might as well be comfy, at least.

Ah, this is true. On the other hand, you kind of have to applaud the level of commitment to an outfit from hell.

You made runners do math? That's mean. I mean, maybe just because I haven't had coffee or run 26 miles, but I'd probably have to stop and think to solve for X! But if I didn't stop it would bug me!!

Heh. You could see the wheels churning for some. I do math while I swim (well, factoring and fractions) and actually find it soothing.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I can't do math while running; it's surprisingly hard. Same reason I find podcasts less funny while running. I count down from 200 to try to focus. But I couldn't count down by twos. Relatedly, I ran 9 miles this morning-- my first "long" run in three months. I'm back, baby! Ready to start training for LA!

Art Crawl!!!

Happy Birthdays, Birthday people.

I'm having an odd weekend as in, I fell asleep early last evening, woke up around 9 pm, stayed up for a very long time knitting and listening to podcasts. Possibly slept some more and have been up since not sure when, knitting and listening to podcasts.

Just had veggie soup with rice for lunch. (Not homemade - but still good.)

I do have a cold - so perhaps my general sleepiness is due to that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just swung by my parents' because family was supposed to be there, but my aunt and uncle were about to go for a walk with my grandmother, and my cousin hadn't showed up yet, so I just hung out with my parents for a bit and then did grocery shopping, so that was good. It is gorgeous out, so I might go do a little more walking before I get a glass jar to come back and make sauerkraut (!!).

Punishingly Intricate

fuck, just found out a girl I know -- a masseuse who I got a really great massage from last month -- died in a car accident last night. And the car was driven by someone else I know from the neighborhood who is (physically, anyway) okay. So messed up. It happened on a road we drive on all the time and, while it's kind of dark and windy, the speed limit is relatively low and it seems like a weird place for a fatal accident. I guess anything can happen. I have a couple of friends who are really close to the girl who died & I feel terrible for them.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday to Matt, Cashmere, megan walker and ita's dad!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, lisah--how horrible for your friends, and you. Life and death, both often random.

I *think* the cannibal co-worker told me he used to hang out with Tom Savini. I didn't ask him for spelling, or anything, but Google suggested this guy, and since the stories he told involved setting himself on fire and then running into a mall and jumping into a fire, and also spending Halloween night pretending to be a corpse dangling from a noose on Tom's porch, it does kinda fit. However, the things he said that amused me the most were "I would have liked the first Batman movie better if the Joker had won" and how he didn't skip a beat between fellating the reputation of Joss Whedon, establishing himself as fan numero uno, and then not having heard of Cabin in the Woods. This is, for perspective, the guy who asked me if I'd seen Firefly, after missing that I was QUOTING WASH AT HIM.

So, you know, that.

Hey, can you guys force me to make pineapple raisin carrot muffins today? I think I have all the relevant ingredients, but I'm likely to get distracted by fake projects or just sleeping. All quite attractive.
