And pedestal sinks are the worst.
They are. I hate ours.
ION, why am I suddenly craving ALL the burgundy velvet blazers? I shouldn't be browsing Etsy for them, I should wait and see if I win this current round of photo judging, and if I do, I can get this one.

I think I need one in midnight blue.
All the of Bastable series have Bastable, knocked into alternate world after alternate world, turning against colonialism and siding with the oppressed of the earth. Only that does not always turn out well either. Cause Moorcock is into moral complexity. But the Robur one is the Steampunkiest of them.
[Edit]Theliteratary consensus is that Warlord of the Air is the Steampunkiest of the three. Don't know if that is the one with Robur or not. Been a long time since read the series. I think I may well need to re-read the Nomad of the Time Stream trilogy again.
It is interesting how people at reddit are upset about this: after they have invaded other people's privacy.
Children's privacy, in fact. Upskirt photos and all.
I'm a hardass about not outing people in fandom, but it's really hard to hang onto that principle in light of someone who trolls so hard.
This does have me thinking about anonymity. Some of the people on that Predditors tumblr have their Reddit profiles linked on twitter with their real name, so -- no sympathy. If you want to be anonymous on the internet, it doesn't seem that hard. Make a dedicated email address, don't talk about your personal life details, don't tell people you meet in person your handle, etc. Obviously, anyone could read this site and know exactly who I am, but I'm pretty careful not to put stuff on the internet that I wouldn't want generally public. At least, not locked down to people I (think I can) trust.
Considering he was posting salacious pictures of minors without their permission in a forum devoted to same, I don't really have any problem with someone outing him to the legal authorities, nevermind the general public.
Have you read The Stress of Her Regard? Byron! Shelley! Keats! Vampires! Yes, it's my favorite by him.
I am so very unsurprised that you love this book. My favorite Powers, though, is
Last Call.
Tarot! Poker! Vegas! Bugsy Siegel! Fisher King mythos!
That's basically what's going on in the Temeraire series, except with dragons instead of steampunk tech.
That's true, and there's rather a steampunk air to the way the outfit the dragons.
I haven't read later Moorcock, so in my head Oswald Bastable is still digging for treasure.
Moorcock always said he named Bastable after the character from the treasure hunters, but he was not supposed to be what the character turned into. The name was a link to a sort of liberal imperialism, the sort that claims to support invasions for the good of the nation being invaded. Of course this is way after the fact analysis. It is possible that the name was picked on a "wouldn't it be cool" basis, and the justification thought of long after.
yeah all this reddit stuff I'm reading the last few days? It's like really gross extreme libertarians.
