I don't like vampires. I'm gonna take a stand and say they're not good.

Coding and Sleeping

What are you, some kind of communist?!

Yeah. Yeah. I probably shouldn't have gone quoting from radical documents like that... never mind.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Wow, that workout just totally fried my brain. I couldn't figure out how to open my browser for a moment there. But in good news, I'm now less cranky.

Which is good because I'm about to head into the start of our brass program: all brand new trumpet students. Oy vey.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm so sorry, Frank.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'm sorry, Frank.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know why (or even how) I miss teletext--I have the internet. But I still do.

As a general rule, I don't followmy own country's politics much. America's is much more entertaining, and frankly, probably more relevant to my own life. Plus, I've been pretty disgusted with the quality of the Parliamentary occupants of both sides for some time now.

However, our PM, Julia Gillard, has delivered a thoroughly warranted smackdown to the Leader of the Opposition that I think is worth sharing. A couple of background notes: the PM's father died a few weeks ago. At a Young Liberals dinner, a local radio shock jock claimed that he had died of shame due to his daughter's political conduct. The occasion of the smackdown was a motion from the Opposition to oust the Speaker of the House of Representatives, over some offensively sexist text messages he'd sent. The motion was defeated by one vote, but the Speaker then resigned anyway. Here is the PM opposing the motion: [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Badass.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Scrappy, a good doctor that treats her with respect is great. And tho I'm sure it doesn't feel like it, two good years is meaningful. Having lost way too many parents, I've come to the conclusion that the good years are the ones that count. As long as the patient is happy life is a blessing.
