Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Frank, I'm so sorry. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Good thoughts for Scrappy's mom, too.

Coding and Sleeping

Also why there is such massive turnover in their warehouses, not that I know Lands End to be better.

Yeah, I'd like to see some political messaging over not letting employers treat people like dirt. You know, that whole, "promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" part. I have it pretty good, but a lot of people don't.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Gud, employers are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want, because why do you hate America? They're the only legitimate citizens.

Snark aside, I feel real despair at reading something like your comment, because it's so far from acceptable discourse anymore that I can barely even picture it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But it's so convenient for me for employees to be treated like dirt! If that waitress deserved more money, her boss should give it to her, not me. Why is that my responsibility?

Just read a small HuffPo piece on celebrities with bipolar depression. I have a hard enough time imagining what that is like on a small stage, but in front of a massive audience? Good lord...

Okay, more bailing out to go do. Now I have to guess what search terms have how many results in two different databases...good times!

Huh, I guess Emilie Autumn is too niche a performer to make that list. But she's based the majority of her career on being bipolar.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah, I'd like to see some political messaging over not letting employers treat people like dirt.

I am getting some grim pleasure in seeing how the pilots' union is fucking with American Airlines bottom line. I'm not sure how the other AA employees are feeling, but AA management are fucking assholes who are greedier than greedy things.

Which won't, I'm afraid, prevent me from ordering a Paperwhite Kindle. Betsy got one and she says it's fantastic, far superior to the Kindle Fire for reading.

Hah. My roommate is waiting on hers (it's backordered) and I'm jealous, but trying to remind myself I like my oldschool kindle fine...

Totally have heard about how Amazon treats warehouse employees badly. Of course, I also since I wrote that post saw that today, LandsEnd is offering 40% off, so I had to call them again and ask them for a price reduction...I mean, yay cheaper, but oy.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yeah, I'd like to see some political messaging over not letting employers treat people like dirt.

What are you, some kind of communist?! Employees are so entitled! They feel entitled to a living wage, bathroom breaks, basic health care. Any employer knows if he wants to succeed, his job is to not care about them.

Gawd, that's worse than those people who feel entitled to FOOD. Ridiculous!!
