Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Another such site: [link] I actually think Sam Wang is better with stats than Nate Silver. They both tell the same story though. Romney got a bounce from the first debate, but it looks like it's peaked, and Obama is still ahead, especially in key swing states.

Wang regards both the Presidency and the Senate as pretty good for the Dems right now, and recommends that donations go towards the House races. He puts control of the House at 50/50 (it should be comfortable Dem, but he makes the impact of redistributing equal to about 1.2% of the popular vote, in the Repubs' favour).

Ferberizing did not work on Casper. She appeared to be capable of crying for an infinite number of hours, and it got worse on successive night, not better. Needless to say this was horrible for us as well.

It's really sort of amazing I had a second child.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

until we Ferberized him at 10 months
I read that as Febreezed too!

OTOH, I read it as FRBRized. And I know I'm not the only one.

Every time I see FRBR I imagine tiny librarians crying in the night.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse - is 20 minutes about the extent of his focus now?

I haven't seen him do anything for 20 minutes in years, really. I mean, he'll sort of watch tv, but dozes off and/or wanders off a fair amount.

I hate car repair. And when I figure out what my repair costs over the past 5 years have been (all mostly on systems that just wear out, though there have been a few oddities- further back it was all usually under $500/year,) it would take me about a decade to come up to the cost of a new-to-me car, at which point it would start having the same wearings-outs. Which is in-line with my thinking, but UHG.

Add that and my FUCKED UP schedule tomorrow and I'm just cranky. And now I have to go wish my dad happy birthday.

Because books.

Jesse, have you thought of stuff like Play-Doh? I mean, I love to play with it, although I get that some people might think it's too juvenile. But it's tactile, so I think maybe it would take longer to bore him?

I have a job interview tomorrow, for a doggy daycare place! Getting paid to play with dogs would be awesome. Any ~ma you can send this way around 10 a.m. tomorrow would be much appreciated.

Ooh, that sounds fun! Good luck.

Yeah, that would be great for me! But he's increasingly grossed out by messy hands -- like, he doesn't like to eat with his hands so much anymore. The brain is a mystery, man.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

the trend?!?!? my god the trend!

I KNOW. It freaks me out a little, although I still believe Obama's got the election sewn up.
