What is Ferberizing? I'm trying to imagine and can't.
I think Ferber is a doctor who came up with a technique for getting babies into a regular sleep pattern. We did something similar with Ryan, following a book called Save Our Sleep. (Key similarity: put the baby in bed while he or she is still awake, and - to some extent at least - if they get upset, let them cry it out, with the goal of helping the baby learn how to soothe themselves instead of relying on their parents to do so.)
Jesse - is 20 minutes about the extent of his focus now?
Someone reassure me about the presidential election.
check out fivethirtyeight
that's all you need to do.

don't read anything else.
Yeah, but that's not reassuring me.
those are pretty good stats tho, no?
the trend?!?!? my god the trend!
Romney's not going to win. Because he can't carry Ohio after Obama saved the auto industry, and he can't carry Florida because Ryan pissed off the old people. Everything else is moot.

Okay, I like that. More of that.
Maybe Ryan will cackle maniacally through his debate.
Another such site: [link] I actually think Sam Wang is better with stats than Nate Silver. They both tell the same story though. Romney got a bounce from the first debate, but it looks like it's peaked, and Obama is still ahead, especially in key swing states.
Wang regards both the Presidency and the Senate as pretty good for the Dems right now, and recommends that donations go towards the House races. He puts control of the House at 50/50 (it should be comfortable Dem, but he makes the impact of redistributing equal to about 1.2% of the popular vote, in the Repubs' favour).
