I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I did not, bon, but it's back in the fridge and sitting now. I will check for deliciousness tomorrow.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I don't think I even knew that show existed.

ION, the job I was interviewed for on Monday and expected to start on today was first postponed until tomorrow and I just noticed an email from the temp company that they won't be ready for me til Monday.

It's actually ok, I seem to have come down with a cold and an upset stomach, so I will lie low and watch Microsoft Office training videos to get ready.

Punishingly Intricate

but I love me some Hendrick's

I second this! I didn't think I liked gin but I love Hendrick's. Especially with St. Germaine. Yum!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I have to strain out my lime cordial tonight, too, as well as my attempt at kumquat cordial/syrup.

Kumquat, eh? That sounds like a good idea.

Two strong endorsements for Hendrick's! I think I can swing by BevMo tomorrow and see if they have any.

I couldn't make the NYT recipe using kumquats since they don't provide enough juice. But I combined peels and some flesh (for the bitterness) in a light syrup, macerated for a day, strained it and it's pretty good. Very noticeable kumquatty-bitter aftertaste, though.

ETA: I just combined it with some marginally drinkable wine for a sangria experience. It's, shall we say, too drinkable.

brillig

I've strained my lime cordial

And being right after the medical discussion, I read that and thought "What part of the body is the lime cordial in, how do you strain it, and does it hurt?"

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's good to know, bon. I was thinking of trying a kumquat cordial, and it sounds like it turned out pretty well. Def trying out some homemade lime cordial once my cough is contained.

Oh and I was going to say:

At least a diagnosis is validating?

Yes and no, only because I went in to the first doctor basically saying "hmm, think my viral cold turned into a bad cough that won't go away, what can I do?" And he was kinda dismissive, suggesting OTC cough syrup. annoying. I much prefer my PCP.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

What did your PCP suggest? I'm in week 6 of a cough that won't quit.
