Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But Brown's got so little against her all he can do is hammer at this thing, little understanding how racist it makes him look. Worse, he knows it makes him look like a racist tool, and thinks that's an advantage.

That kind of makes me sad, because really, I thought he was OK for a Republican.

I've tried a couple times to explain that there are fewer reported awful incidents if you have the city set up so YOU NEVER SEE ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LOOK LIKE YOU, but to no avail.

Also, and I know it's been a while, but Charles Stuart.

As the old saying goes on racism in the South versus racism in the North: "In the South they don't care how close you get as long as you don't get too high [socially]. In the North they don't care how high you get as long as you don't get too close."

See, also, Randy Newman's "Rednecks".

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, hey, after I told her "I will manage my workload as I see fit" she left me alone. That's nice.

My manager did give me a mild "be nice" instruction, but I also took the opportunity to explain that some people are confused.

Tell you what, I'll come deal with your crankypants/clueless developer, if you come deal with my fellow writer who has been repeatedly told that we DON'T USE BOLD OR ITALIC TAGGING in our content, but still doesn't get it.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I walked 9 blocks to first grade. I was six at the most, started kindergarden at 4. (Dec Birthday). The only time it ever caused a problem was some teacher showed us a film on how important was to stop and smell the flowers. There were a lot of flowers along the route to school, so next day I stopped to sniff them all and got to school two hours late.

Oy Consuela. That is NOT a tactful way to share that information.

Typo,

I read that the boss was trying to be helpful.

But was this his way of letting her know her job was in jeopardy? Cause if so, it still seems tactless - even though the intentions were helpful. Says - sometimes the king of well intentioned tactlessness

But was this his way of letting her know her job was in jeopardy?

No. I've been waiting for over a year for them to post the position so I could apply for it as a regular federal employee. (And hopefully outscore the dozens of veterans who will also apply.)

I've spent the last two years as a contractor, which is not an efficient use of taxpayer money.
