Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

"Groan-up" was a typo I made a few days ago and I liked it, so I kept it!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Somehow I screwed up and ordered two copies of The Avengers. Didn't realize the mistake until I got duplicate notices that they have been shipped. Oy, Suz. Brain is not functioning.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had the DVD shipped to my work

I should order the SPN Blu Rays to work. We are no longer allowed to open mail alone--I don't know if this is proactive or reactive, but all mail has to be witnessed open. Even if it's personal, so caveat emptor. If it's not personal, it's opened in the mail room, and if it is, someone will watch you open it. Some weirdness about cheques. I don't even know...

I know I walked to prep school at least once or twice when I was under 11 in Jamaica, and took the bus into Halfway Tree for high school which means nothing to y'all, but I'm fairly sure I'd try to avoid doing it today.

In London I insisted on taking the bus, while my sister either was driven by the chauffeur or carpooled with Tamara down the street for as long as she could, even though my mother deliberately sent her to school near me. It seems she always knew someone named Tammy. I don't know what's up with that.

I'm watching (randomly) a piece on Richard Nixon's childhood home. To my level of foreigner exposure, he's the guy that lied. That's his entire legacy. So watching this is still weird, even though I intellectually knew he has more to him than Watergate. But part of me is thinking "A library? Why does he get a library?" However, his daughter (Eisenhower? Even I know that's an impressive stacking of surnames) is a totally boring anecdoter, and the interviewer isn't helping.

There's a guy on IO9 with whom I no longer speak. Like, we argue all the time, and a few months ago decided to stop talking to each other (well, he flounced dramatically and came back 2 days later...). He's responded to me for the first time in a month or so, and the sad thing is that I don't believe he purposely says things I want to rip apart, but...

That's Queen Latifah, right? That's pretty amazing. I love that they took a strong-bodied woman, for once. I'm tired of live-action rendition of Ursula with skinny women. Ursula NEEDS to be big. She needs to be a burlesque display of womanhood. That's why she was based on a Drag-Queen to start with!

TOP TO MOTHERFUCKING BOTTOM, COLLEX. We cannot coexist peacefully. It's just that simple. He's the rape apologist who thinks rape "victims" should take blood alcohol tests, and the strange superheroines with penises gangbang cartoons are "romantic". The sky is not blue in both our worlds at the same time.

::sigh:: Alphas is on. ita ! will watch Alphas now. She ate chicken, and now Alphas.

The thing about Nixon is that, in addition to all the awful stuff, he established the EPA and opened relations with China. Some of his legislative proposals were truly good for the country; pity he was such a horrible excuse for a human being.

Speaking about politics, I loved this essay about how Sorkin's really dropped the ball in his portrayal of the 2012 election: [link]

In addition to The Avengers, the new Mumford & Sons album drops tomorrow. I'ma buy that so hard.

That's weird. I usually ship stuff to my office when someone needs to be present to sign for a package because I'm waging a war of attrition with the UPS guy who delivers to my condo building.

I used to do that when I was in private industry, but it's frowned upon in government offices. I ended up doing it just once, when my cellphone was stolen off my doorstep and I was too afraid to have the replacement delivered to my door.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Some of his legislative proposals were truly good for the country; pity he was such a horrible excuse for a human being.

He had the idea of awesomeness, but never made it happen.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.
