Suela, that sounds great! I'm glad there's finally some forward motion for you and your parents.

ita, I love that picture! The t-shirts look like they came out really well.

Fuuuuuuck. M just landed at JFK -- his flight from Germany was 3 hours late, so he's missing his connection to Nashville. He just texted to say that he'd been rebooked on a 6:20 flight -- out of LaGuardia. It is now 4:25 in New York, and he hasn't gone through customs yet. Is there any chance he's going to make this flight? NYistas, what's the quickest way to get from one airport to the other?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It should be a quick cab ride. It's possible he makes it!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Cab ride is his only option. Plenty of time!

Thanks, Jesse edit: and Tom! I'm not overly hopeful about a cab ride at rush hour, but that sounds like his best chance, so: fingers crossed!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Consuela, I meant to say, that sounds wonderful, and I hope your mom settles in easily.

Google maps says 35 minutes in current traffic. If he can get out of there before 5, he ought to be OK.

It's more or less going against traffic, and cab drivers know all the back ways through Queens.

Do you know what airline he's on? If it's USAir, tell him to go to the USAir Shuttle area to check in -- there is never a line, and it all connects on the other side of security.

Thanks, guys. It would be really awesome if he could get home tonight, and even more amazing if he could get home before Rose goes to sleep, not least because I don't want to either keep her awake or wake her up to go take a trip to the airport at 10pm. We had a rough night last night (well, it was rough for me; she seemed perfectly happy to be wide awake from 3-5am) and I'm hoping I don't have to mess with her bedtime schedule too much tonight. And also, you know, I'm tired and M is tired and there's a shitload of work still to be done before Friday and I just want him home already. t /whine
