Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

I tried to be good, once I'd banished the headache, and went to the gym. Unfortunately, first I dropped my phone a few seconds after I'd started (flew out of my hand while on the treadmill...luckily and shockingly it didn't break!) and then discovered that as cute as the new pants I'd bought are, they are a little too big, and start half falling down if I run. If I walk in them, they're fine. Doh! Ah well. Anyone a size 14-16 who needs a pair of worn-once capri-pants-with-a-skirt-over? They're v. cute.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Ok, who remembers why I opened an Amazon.com tab? Because I don't...

Water filters.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

"Engage sloth mode on my command..."

Went out and got as many acceptable summer tops from ON as I could find. For Australia. My current summer casual wear is worn an simply not enough. Still might need a couple pair of shorts.

I really need to go through my closets. I could probably lose 50% of it, either worn out or too big.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Sloth mode failed. I went to the framing store, bought three new frames, came home, reframed two pictures and discovered that the matting on the third had horribly faded, back to the store for a custom mat, back home, finished reframing, and then I hung all three. I even put all the tools away.

Sloth mode re-engage?

Nooooo. Come to my house and hang my art first. I have things sitting against walls in their intended locations even. But I am sick and woozy and cannot be trusted with even a hammer. Much less deal with things that need some repair or framing before being displayed. After that, totally sloth mode.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My niece got her first dog, and it's a French Bulldog! So cute. That dog had a doggie friend (a dachshund), who of course couldn't be left behind, so niece has two little bitty dogs now. Niece who never had a pet before except for a vicious rabbit who hated everyone. She ADORES them and is totally into learning everything about being a dog person.

The status is NOT quo.

I would totally come help you hang pictures if my mom weren't in town this weekend, Cass!

Oh, that is sweet. I just need to get over this junk and then hang things. A couple pieces need repair so those are maybe going to take longer. But I think I'm happy with placements.

Really I have TWO boxes left to unpack. One is curtains and the other is full of things that go in bookcases except I am out of room in bookcases for anything but stacks of books and smaller art objects that go up after the bigger art. And not a single thing was broken, not one. So I am doing pretty good for moving and unpacking.

And please tell your mom hi for me. She's awesome.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

A former student of mine is spending a semester in Cairo. I'm finding it really interesting to read her take on current events. [link]
