Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I had a ham steak, baked tater tots, a salad, and a sliced tomato tonight. Oddly everything except the ham was very bland.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I had homemade beef barley soup, cheese and crackers, and berries with yogurt for dinner. It was delicious. Actually, everything tastes delicious lately. I wonder why? Maybe I'm fattening up (more) for winter hibernation.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I've been practically live-blogging my dinner on FB, which was a duck taco and a mashed potato taco from this place: [link] SO GOOD.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I should really be cooking something with CSA produce, but I don't feel like it! Meh.

I had lunch with Jen K. today and she had a good recipe for how to deal with unexpected CSA radishes if you get any.

We had broccoli with butter and melted cheese and spanikopita (so far) for dinner. So green vegetables with butter and cheese. There will probably be more grazing shortly.

Spanakopita is truly the yummiest way to get your spinach.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm trying a pizza flavored soufflé for dinner.

Send them to me? (Jen K.! I miss her!)

M and I successfully avoided getting more takeout tonight -- seems like we've been living off takeout for weeks now (and I will definitely be keeping up the tradition while he's in Germany). Instead we had TJ's latkes and leftover homemade pasta sauce with frozen ravioli. It was fine -- at least the pasta sauce had tomatoes and broccoli, so yay veggies.

I still kinda want a taco, though.

I'll get it from her. It involves rose water and macerating with oranges to make a salad.

(Jen K.! I miss her!)

Me too! Or I did. She's been super busy since she and her beau, Matt, bought a house in Oakland and have been renovating and he's gotten a job so I hadn't seen her all summer.

But I got to see their cute place in Fruitvale (not far from Consuela), and all the work they're doing on it. (There will be a dedicated Lego Room.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But radishes are so good with just salt! Maybe lime. And noms.
