Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I am self medicating with wine but I applaud your sober approach, Dana.

I'm going to self medicate with absinthe as soon as I get home. This is my reward for not setting anyone at work on fire.

brillig

This is my reward for not setting anyone at work on fire.

Such accomplishments are not given the recognition they deserve.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have some absinthe in the house (a wee wee bottle) and keep thinking I need to find out the proper way to drink it so I can try it. I'm supposed to pour it over a sugar cube or something?

And for your tax bill! But housing appraisals in B'more are schizo right now (as if they ever weren't.) Mine is at about 20K less than I paid. A house 2 doors down was a foreclosure that went to auction through HUD and won for $50K (it needed work, but that was WAY LOW. She's put a ton of work into it, but it isn't as if it needed gutting.) The house next door (which is between me and the auction house) sold for a little more than I paid 3 years ago, and that seems to be about the usual sale price for the normal sales around here. You can tell which are foreclosures- those are any under $100K. Most are $120-160.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got an email back from my former property manager about the extra rent they are trying to charge for the extra days I was in the apartment. He's like, "Obviously you were in the apartment so you have to pay," and I admit he has a point, but why did no one mention this??? He's willing to make it three days instead of four, but I'm inclined to say I'll pay for two and just get it over with. (I would have moved on the 1st, did move on the 3rd, so two days.)

Thoughts?

How to drink absinthe.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

This made me bust a gut laughing

The green fairy may show up in sweat pants and a janky t-shirt, but its all good.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The latest sample of trolliciousness from the Buffy study thread (it died down for a while, but one of the elder trolls, who had been ably smacked down by aurelia and ita, just wandered back in):

So you think that martial artists have to practice a style developed by someone else? The martial arts practitioners you have known are better at remembering forms than actual fighting. Most martial arts are adapted for marketing, not actual fighting. krav manga is a joke, I wish someone would try that style on me.

I guarantee you, sir, not half as much as I do.

Also, heh, krav manga. Where you kill someone with your pinkie and a Japanese comic book.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So you think that martial artists have to practice a style developed by someone else?

...Do all martial artists develop their own style of fighting or something?
