I had oomph for today, but then, football.
However, that room also has the boxes and boxes of ancient receipts that I stashed during the bank inspection, so I am sorting through those while I watch. It is totally a perfect football activity. I can unfold and right the receipt while I'm watching the play, then glance at it and file it in between plays. I've already gotten through a box.
Sorting receipts is weird, because it's just this detritus of your life. Where you were, what you were doing. And it comes in drifts, so there's a strata of June 2010 when I was at camp, and then a strata of tour receipts. There's quite a lot of info you could extrapolate from these.
Also, what am I going to bring for lunch to work tomorrow? I have my crockpot dinner planned for while I'm at work, but I can't live off Arby's and Chester's Chicken like I used to now.
Hey ita !, there's a groupon for an Asus tablet today.
Tim has been thinking about a tablet, and he even went to Best Buy to look at that specific Asus tablet after checking Consumer Reports. And then he didn't get it because he started wondering if he would need Microsoft Office (despite the existence of Open Office and Google Docs).
t edit
(Because he wants to totally get rid of his desktop PC and just use a tablet as his primary computer.)
But then I showed him the Groupon deal, and he jumped on it. I forsee a LOT of Angry Birds in his future.
Apparently the answer to the question of what I was going to do today was "nothing." I mean, I guess I still could, but eh.
Today I am maybe going to do some laundry, Dad is stopping by for a visit, and then we are going to a birthday dinner.
Yesterday was 3 hours of tattooing. It turned out beautifully: [link]
Jilli,
I'm awestruck. I LOVE it. Just love it. What a wonderful tribute.
That would have been a pretty good football game if the Saints had, you know, played better.
Professional development question: there's an organization that's hiring two for two positions. One is the kind of thing I do now, and the other is the kind of thing I always think I would like to do. Should I just apply for the second and figure they will call me in for the first if they want? Or do two separate things? Or just mention both in the cover letter? (It's an online thing where you just upload a letter, but it gets attached to a specific listing.)
Is HR handling both applications? If so, why don't you call HR and ask which they would prefer you do.
Oh, interesting -- I just realized one job is for the national and one is for the local office. Maybe I will just apply to both, since I now presume different people will be looking at them.
ION, my fucking cable box doesn't work again. I hate them!
