I'm watching on PBS and seem to be on tape delay. We have Castro now.

For whatever reason K-Bug started saying ObamaObamaObamaObama and it sounded like a running engine. Then it moved on to RomneyRomneyRomneyRomney and that sounds like an engine that won't start. Ok, it doesn't work in type, but our family is cracking up.

Thanks for the diet encouragement! I ate some extra roasted veggies, which are delicious, and am happier than I was earlier today. ...now to do it again tomorrow.

OK, is Michelle wearing GRAY nail polish? That's kind of awesome in a "screw only being allowed to wear neutral or pink, I"m going trendy!" way.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had to choose between a Muppets and a bacon bandaid (well, I narrowed it down to those two) for the cut on my toe. I went with Muppets, because I didn't know which one I'd get.

I felt like I needed something random.

I have Kermit on my toe! That worked out well.

I'm trying to work out the proper term for the style of dress I wore today. When I image search house dress, the skirt is too narrow, and when I image search swing dress, too many of them are halters--most of mine have short sleeves, and this particular one has cap sleeves. Today's dress is too fancy for house dress, I think--it's pink, wide skirt, with a white eyelet insert down the center (I have to wear a slip with it, even if I wear crinolines).

Anyway, I was pink and pouffy today--one co-worker said it must be laundry day (that was the reason, but I wore it because I'd done laundry, not because I needed to) and made snarky comments about it being out of character. I got some compliments and one "a lot of pink" (my inside reply to that was "You have two siblings named 'Chris' don't talk to me about 'a lot'"), but even he conceded that on a day when you need to force a little joy in, you wear what you have to.

Speaking of dresses (we were, weren't we?) I'm trying to work out how to accessorise the one for M's wedding. I want to wear tulle around the neckline, like, tucked in. I was thinking I'd wear a choker with it, and it might be a place for colour--I only have one choker, I can't decide if I should or not...thoughts?

I will probably go with my mid-height granny boots over fishnets (maybe fishnets over hose) for temperature considerations, and I will wear crinolines under it--I only have white, but I like how the black looks in the auction picture--I can't decide on that either.

Our wings are not tired.

I usually watch on MSNBC, but to be all social and a champion family member I watched on NBC because mom only has local channels and no cable. There was PBS prior to prime time. I watched most of the speeches. My completely biased knee-jerk devoted Dem opinion is that they knocked it out of the park.

My sister and mom nodded off frequently, but step-dad, a former devoted Republican, watched and was very impressed. He hasn't stopped complaining about the RNC speeches.

Yes, I always click the ita ! links. Love the choker, but I'd have to see it with the dress. My totally non-fashionista opinion is that black crinolines would work better.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I want to wear tulle around the neckline, like, tucked in.

Be warned, unless you safety-pin the tulle inside the neckline (I almost said basted the tulle in, then remembered who I was talking to), it won't stay tucked in. Edges and ends will drift out when you don't want them to.

I only have one choker, I can't decide if I should or not...thoughts?

That I still covet that choker? Do you have a big pendant you really like? Get a length of ribbon to thread it on, and tie the ribbon around your neck as a choker. That's what I do with all of my pendants.

Black crinolines are good. Unless you want to be totally fancy, and get a colored crin, so there's a flash of contrasting color when you walk.

Man, I spent too long chatting with my old coworker, but it was lovely to catch up. And since she's a consultant she bought me my drinks and we split an order a fries. (And that was a very tasty scotch, something called Caol Ila. NOM.)

And I've read the FLOTUS's speech, and it was very good.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

The dress is pewter and black, right? A dark red crinoline and matching pendant/ribbon would be fun, I think.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And I've read the FLOTUS's speech, and it was very good.

Her delivery knocked it out of the park.
