ita, if it were me I'd want to know how much they know about the surgery and its efficacy. Our understanding of pain is so... rudimentary.

Somehow I am both desperate and not ready for that. And, considering I'm holding a shiny leaflet with a CD-ROM of information, I suspect I can't afford it either...but how much debt should one go into in order to stop your life being ruined?
