Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Dammit! I'm trying to book a flight on Orbitz, and every time I hit Select on the flight I want, it refreshes and gives me a list of flights again! Is it broken or am I stupidly doing something wrong? There are only 2 tickets left on this flight (supposedly) and I don't want to miss it.

I'm trying to give you money, you bastards, WTF?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, ugh, Jesse. How frustrating for you and Homer.

Kat, I'm sorry about the whole wretched long weekend, for you and your folks and especially Gracie. I'm so glad she's home again, but oh do you all need a break.

ita (and others) alert: I hope these images are visible to non-members: a kids' clothing discount website called zulily.com has occasional grown-up stuff, and they've got a bunch of ridiculously good deals on some really gorgeous dresses from a label called Dress Accordingly today:

eta: Matilda got dressed for the movie today, all black in honor of Black Widow. We already quashed a quick dye job, or she would totally have BW's hair too.

e again ta: if you'd like a membership invite, just ask - I get $20 for anyone I invite who signs up and makes a purchase, and we could probably work out some kind of mutual store-credit-sharing thingie.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it's not that time perception slows, but that the brain concentrates so hard on noticing everything at those moments that a flood of sensory data that is usually ignored not only gets noticed but evaluated and remembered, hence a half-second fall off a ladder seems like a couple seconds worth of experience.

This has good timing with the upcoming Dredd release, because that's kind of the premise of te couge llellyregat

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The who with the what now?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Quick question. I have a friend who just got diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and underwent removal of the tumor about 10 days ago. All went well and they haven't found any lymph node involvement, so hopefully she'll be fine with adjunctive radiation therapy alone. I'll probably go visit her soon and thought it might be nice to get her a card and a gift, but I have no idea what to get her. She's a professional woman in her early 40's, and fairly girly.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Vonnie, I would be careful about pink things. I know it's the color of breast cancer awareness, but my mother, in a similar situation, was very "meh" on the whole pink thing.

Maybe a pashmina or something like that? Lightweight and pretty, but could help with body temperature regulation?

I was thinking about something like that, actually. A pretty scarf, maybe. She loves scarves. There is always lotions and bath stuff, but I don't know what kind of scent she likes.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

stay away from bath and lotions if you don't know what scent she likes.

does she like books? maybe a good book?

Whoops. keyboard smash included enter, somehow.

It's the premise of the conflict that the Judges have to resolve.

My sister wants me to give a friend of hers my bank account info so she can deposit money into my account. My first reflex was to ask if she has paypal, but she's not in the US, Canada, or UK, so I'm gathering it's even less likely.

I saw something on the BofA website that looked like it could be helpful, but honestly, I have no idea what I just enabled. Better not incur charges. Anyway...what is the most secure, simplest and most not-pricey way to set up such shenanigans?

Wore my pink check faux trench today. I wish it was made for someone taller, and with breasts. I doubt it was supposed to be an empire cut trench coat. Harrumph.

JZ-- please to invite? can't guarantee I'll buy anything, but my gratitude is massive enough ti's almost coalesced into tangibility.
