Up until the punching, it was a real nice party.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh, that sounds delicious. Is your mint syrup just mint infused simple syrup?

I am bumming out because my kayaking outing today just got called for storms.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I need to step away from facebook arguments that are going nowhere. I think we're arguing about whether or not polygamy and/or divorce are a threat to "traditional marriage," but he keeps redefining terms so often that I have no idea what he's talking about anymore.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry for your loss, Theo.

Ran into Sox in the elevator last night.

Chicagoistas- is Lincoln Park a nice place to stay? Looking at a hotel in that area, don't know if it's a good geographic choice or not. (this is the place: [link]

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Pete is still appalled that my parents gave me a crime brûlée torch for Christmas.

Love this typo.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

That looks like a good location. It'll be a little bit of a walk to the L, but you've got the zoo, North Ave beach, Old Town, and Second City fairly close. Steppenwolf and Goose Island aren't too far away either.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Several major bus lines go by there too.

excellent! Thank you guys. I put up a post on the F2F thread about our trip... I was able to make a super freaking early reservation at Girl & the Goat on Friday... afternoon, really, at 4:30pm (!!!!!), but I was thinking about maybe doing some good beer pubbing afterward, if anyone is interested? Saturday is pretty flexible too.

I'm definitely in. There are a lot of options near G&G.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I was sad about having to miss the Chicago Worldcon (which is on right now) because I'd also have to miss Chicago. But then I couldn't do it anyway because of The Project What Goes Live This Weekend and then Mom's death, so even if I'd gone I'd be either leaving early or guilty about being there.

Conclusion: not one of my better weekends.
