Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That wind map is wonderful.

And Dana, punch away. But I am glad to hear your parents are safe and sound.

Seconded, in both.

Zombies! Hyena people! Jan Brewer!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Man, that map is awesome.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The wind map is so cool.

Less cool: four U.S. soldiers arrested for right wing militia formation intending to assassinate Obama.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday meara!

Very cool wind map!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Erika, have you been having really unusual amounts of monsoon rain this year? It's rained more in the desert since I moved here than it has in that time in Portland. And it's not like we're equipped to do anything much with it but erosion and making everything unbearably muggy. I did get to watch a mini canyon form in my yard but this seems way different than the place I lived for nearly twenty years.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

comparatively, but the last few years have been too dry.

information libertarian

I punched one of those people in the face for Dana this morning, on Facebook! Metaphorically. His wife helped me.

I just read the chapters I had written of my dissertation. It was an interesting experience. Two chapters were good and basically done; one was maybe 2/3 done, and the last chapter was basically just an outline. Reading the first couple of chapters was fun. Reading the third reminded me why I did not finish.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Glad your folks are fine, Dana. And I'm standing behind you to face, throat, or cockpunch as needed.

Jan Brewer seems like a cross between a hyena person and a zombie.

David, WTF? Linky?

I beat my neighbor at two games of scrabble in a row. He was an English major, so I'm not sure he's going to talk to me again. I hope he does, though, because we may still be stuck at least part of tomorrow. What's sad is that we decided to allow Tolkien words and names in the second game and count them double; yet neither of us managed to play a single one all game! Geek fail.

I cannot believe we still have power, WTF. I'm not complaining, but it's just bizarre now.

I love that Martina is digging on ita's cousin's playing.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm having a discussion with someone who says the peanut-thrower was a democratic plant because "real republicans" wouldn't do that--they freed the slaves!

I'm going to vomit now.
