Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I spent an entire year learning the state history of NYS, and no song for me. The state bird is the bluebird, though.

The state song like anthem-y? Or the song that's all "Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas"?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love how we are all flailing on the state song question. Except of course msbelle, who knows stuff. Me? If California has a state song, I don't know nut'in' about it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Most state songs are unknown, I think.

Texas, Our Texas is ours.

Georgia On My Mind is Georgia's.

Because books.

All I know is someone wanted "Born to Run" to be NJ's and that got shot down pretty quick.

I have no idea what Delaware's song is -- that's where I was born.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Virginia (from memory):

  • State Bird: Cardinal
  • State Motto: Sic Semper Tyrannis!
  • State Flower: Dogwood
  • State Song; Who the hell knows?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

All 50 state songs.

The NJ one is not, sadly, the John Gorka song of the same name.

information libertarian

I know the CT state song! Okay, probably everyone knows it, since it is Yankee Doodle. Similarly, VA and Carry Me Back To Old Virginia.

I also did know that the KY state song is My Old Kentucky Home, and MD is Maryland My Maryland, but only because of horse racing.

TN has SIX state songs. That seems like a little much.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Louisiana state song = You Are My Sunshine, so, yeah, everybody knows it. Although I think I heard they changed it recently, or added a more about the state sounding song, so maybe not anymore. But when I was in Elementary school, that was the case.

Man, the book store sitting sounds great. I'd do it, but I'd have to get a house sitter to walk the dog and feed the cats and that's just too complicated. I would chip in for travel expenses so a buffistas could have that gig, definitely.
