We're still working on a plan, but so far it involves being sent to prison and becoming somebody's bitch.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Virginia (from memory):

  • State Bird: Cardinal
  • State Motto: Sic Semper Tyrannis!
  • State Flower: Dogwood
  • State Song; Who the hell knows?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

All 50 state songs.

The NJ one is not, sadly, the John Gorka song of the same name.

information libertarian

I know the CT state song! Okay, probably everyone knows it, since it is Yankee Doodle. Similarly, VA and Carry Me Back To Old Virginia.

I also did know that the KY state song is My Old Kentucky Home, and MD is Maryland My Maryland, but only because of horse racing.

TN has SIX state songs. That seems like a little much.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Louisiana state song = You Are My Sunshine, so, yeah, everybody knows it. Although I think I heard they changed it recently, or added a more about the state sounding song, so maybe not anymore. But when I was in Elementary school, that was the case.

Man, the book store sitting sounds great. I'd do it, but I'd have to get a house sitter to walk the dog and feed the cats and that's just too complicated. I would chip in for travel expenses so a buffistas could have that gig, definitely.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We learned (and I still know at least the first verse of) our state song is 4th grade music class.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

All righty, Isaac finally became a hurricane! It's funny, I agree with this guy in my Twitter feed: "I almost feel happy for him. The Little Tropical Cyclone That Could." Heh.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

OK, the NYS State song is "I Love NY". Which I am pretty sure was an ad campaign for NYC. Also, there was probably a different one when I was little.

Because books.

Holy shit, I want that bookstore-sitting gig so much. I wonder if S. could handle the kids for two months without me.

Hah! So great. I love John Gorka.

In other news, I present the GOP guide to female anatomy.

For those few who are interested: TNG still has the trots, and since today is the day the cleaners come, I have banished her to the crate in the garage, poor thing. Oh, and I gave her doggy!Valium and Imodium. Hopefully she won't be too much of a wreck when I get home...
