Do eet!
I love my poor old dignified cat. He just tried to jump up onto a window sill that's not actually wide enough for him (although he's made it up there before), didn't make it, fell back down onto my bed, and walked away like, "What? That's what I meant to do."
I have a nurse who doesn't believe I have a headache, because I'm not acting right for a headache.
OH my god I hate that nurse. I have met her sister. They suck. I'm sure she's very nice but hello? Read the chart. Do the things.
Well, I made it to 10 and there was still stray thunder, so I went back to bed. And looks like more stray thunder. Not sure if I get a swim or not today...
I hope the new shift is on the ball, ita.
Crap, the checks from the new bank are the right format, but not hole-punched. And it's a weird hole-punch pattern, dunno if I can buy an appropriate punch.
This is a fun game of "crap that is in my office that shouldn't be here" discovery:
- pile of books to go to the honor system library
- spiked black leather belt
- punk band patches from this year's festival
- measuring tape
- frisbee
- LED light bulbs for the hall nightlight
More thunder. And storms are just piled up behind this one all the way out to the eastern shore. I might as well just throw in the towel. Or maybe I'll go out to the hardware store with the gym bag and towel, just in case.
There's a exploded transformer and downed live wire lying in the alley across the street, which explains why the block across from me is without power.
Dagnabbit, I just realized my actual problem with eggplants is the itchy mouth. The dip I made's not bad, but I probably shouldn't eat it? Especially since I think there's ratatouille on the menu for dinner.
Yeah, I think if it makes your mouth itch you shouldn't eat it is a good rule in general.
I am also cleaning with a timer today, whee! I'm even employing my "Clean All the Things" apron, which is actually a sturdy and practical garment to clean all the things in. I might need to mow the lawn, next, because it is not searingly hot today and I should take advantage of that...
Yeah, in my head I was totally doing yard work too, alternating with office work. But this is one of those projects that the deeper I get into it, the more I realize needs to be done. So forget the yard for today. I can hit that next week. Plus, the SO likes doing that kind of work.
I do need to at least change the hummingbird nectar, though, because they're getting a little testy out there.
(eta: My solution for the rice paper candy that doesn't belong on my desk? Eat it.)
So many good things make my mouth itch! I think it's weird that I don't really get seasonal allergies, because apparently the itchy mouth is connected to hay fever, etc.
