Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, I am avoiding church and driving to Albuquerque with the SO to help him pick up the rest of his gear in order to get my office whipped into shape so the bank inspector people can come out tomorrow. Well, call tomorrow, but last time they called, they said, can we come out at 1:00 and I was all, uh, no. I realize they are not inspecting my cleanliness, just where I'll be using their device, but still.

Remind me to lock their checks and stuff away in the lockable filing cabinet that I have but don't always remember to use.

I don't want to trick them or anything, my office is what it is, and if it's not secure enough, then fine. But I also don't want to look like a complete lunatic. A slovenly lunatic.

So I think I better get started with timers or I will procrastinate the rest of this day away. I have no idea how to start.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But seriously, they're the best. Weird looking hook, you just stick it in the drywall and twist, and then you can hang whatever; they hold an amazing amount. And when you pull them out, there's a barely noticeable little pinprick of a hole.

I am intrigued! But it's too late; all the holes are made. For the time being, at least.

I have decided to watch more GoT while the laundry runs and the eggplant cools.

Lock their checks and stuff away! Then see what's near there.

Oh, no I can't. The key to the filing cabinet is in the car with Dave...in New Mexico.

Guess I should just give up and go watch Tivo'd Dr. Who!

No? Okay, I'll put their checks on top of the locked filing cabinet and start in that corner.

Do eet!

I love my poor old dignified cat. He just tried to jump up onto a window sill that's not actually wide enough for him (although he's made it up there before), didn't make it, fell back down onto my bed, and walked away like, "What? That's what I meant to do."

not your mom's socks.

I have a nurse who doesn't believe I have a headache, because I'm not acting right for a headache.

OH my god I hate that nurse. I have met her sister. They suck. I'm sure she's very nice but hello? Read the chart. Do the things.

Well, I made it to 10 and there was still stray thunder, so I went back to bed. And looks like more stray thunder. Not sure if I get a swim or not today...

I hope the new shift is on the ball, ita.

Crap, the checks from the new bank are the right format, but not hole-punched. And it's a weird hole-punch pattern, dunno if I can buy an appropriate punch.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

This is a fun game of "crap that is in my office that shouldn't be here" discovery:

  1. pile of books to go to the honor system library
  2. spiked black leather belt
  3. punk band patches from this year's festival
  4. measuring tape
  5. frisbee
  6. LED light bulbs for the hall nightlight
