I also assumed that Armstrong was an asshole, FWIW.

The evidence for Armstrong specifically seems to be mostly testimony from people close to him, such as teammmates. He managed to have clean tests for the most part.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I keep looking around for my coffee and then realizing I already drank it. I'm starting to suspect stealth decaf.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yowza with the guns, people.

CJ got called out of school yesterday for a search. The guy committed suicide and was found by a different search team. I know with these searches, sooner or later CJ will be on the find team of a victim. That is part of the job. Just uuuggghhh.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, WTF shooting!

I mean, I know I feel safer knowing that Americans can have whatever guns they have, but...Oh wait. Not safer. The other one.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Jezebel just changed the comments again, and somehow I hate it more. I didn't think it was possible.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wait- people are being shot in NYC AND Chicago??? What the heck?

Not a big incident like NY, just a Thursday night.

OK, now they’re saying that the shooter was a disgruntled worker who was fired, and he killed someone who worked at his former job. He then got into a shootout with the police, and then 9 or so bystanders got injured in the crossfire (many were probably shot by the police). No one else is expected to die.

Oh Bloomberg. Never miss an opportunity to work in a catchphrase.

("He saw something, he said something," re the construction worker who alerted the police.)

But they were just grazed, so police shooting into a crowd is just fine. Really. Move along, nothing to explain here.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sophia--yes. They say they did it so you can see more top level comments at a time, but now you can see more top level comments and an apparently random amount of first level down comments, so it's pretty much dogs and cats lying down together. I haven't checked to see if it breaks the fix lots had been using, but I'm going to expect so, and they continue to be some of the worst application designers I've ever encountered. Every time I get pissed at anyone at work, I remember Denton's mission, and, yeah. Could be worse.

Related to both shootings, The Onion is bitterly funny. ::sigh::

When I turned on the TV there was something about Nike or someone else continuing to support Lance, and him stopping fighting the accusations--but he's not admitting anything, I'm assuming.

I really don't want to hear Usain is doping, but if he is, I hope everyone else is too, and everyone's just bumped up and everyone down to the guy from New Guinea would have an asterisk by their name. It's the only way I could take the heartbreak, even a little.

I finally worked out how to change my Opera language to UK English, and it's more militant than I am, clearly. The word we're fighting about right now is "movie". But, on average, way fewer red underlines, so net positive, and unlike before, I do feel tempted to just type film.
