On the Nancy Ann C. Yancy thing, I thought I remembered reading that there was an actual Nancy Ann Cianci, married to the governor of Rhode Island or something like that, but the internet seems to have differing opinions on whether or not that's an urban legend.
That's actually where our game came from. I just went with Yancy because it was there. I think we also had bits about hypnotism (trancy) and jousting (lancy). I wish I could remember how we worked them all into one convoluted sentence.
Okay, the peanut butter cookie recipe made with TJ's chocolate-almond spread instead of peanut butter does NOT work. The cookies all just spread out really thin over the pan and ran into each other and made one big uber-cookie, some of which did not bake through.
I guess the chocolate-almond spread is more oily, or something. Bummer.
I'm exhausted. I sent too many emails trying to explain that celebrating a youtube video of the MSL Rover as a sexbot isn't really appropriate for outreach or a noontime talk at my workplace. I'm unhappy.
Allyson, yet another depressing but not surprising turn of events. So much for encouraging women in the STEM fields.

I thought I was going crazy, but apparently I'm not the only one who emailed and called to say, WTF OMG HAVE YOU GONE MAD?
It's a bit OTT how much stuff is on my bed and how I'm not apparently caring and sleeping on it anyway. I suspect that might be why my back stopped hurting--some of it is functioning as lumbar support. I just don't know which load of laundry will ruin my casually precise support system.
Every once in a while, I remember Pumpkin was dumped over a fence in a hard cat carrier with such force that the carrier broke beyond saving. And I can't imagine the asshole who discarded such an awesome cat and $$ carrier. She's such a love, and if it were a financial issue alone, they wouldn't have tossed the carrier. Thus, they were a soulless asshole of epic proportions.
My gain, I'm glad she hasn't had any lasting issues from her tossing. Occasionally she gets all POP-goes-the-weasel when you hit a belly spot, but she is over that immediately so I don't think it is a trauma thing.
Teppy is a goddess. The 4 ibuprofen is better than the Vicodin. But I'm taking both at bed tIme. I'm out dancing now and having a blast. Just taking a cool down break. Too sweaty. And maybe tipsy.
Did I break the thread? I think I'll get another drink then.
