"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I had a small nap. But even with it, I am totally almost ready for bed already.

I am cooking beef orzo (okay, venison orzo) for the SO and I'm really happy to have someone to cook for. Also? Healthier than what I've been eating by myself.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am so sleepy (since I have been up since 2am) and I think I am never going to sleep.

I also can't stop laughing because a Facebook friend's dog got into a traffic accident with an Amish buggy. The dog is OK

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy Birthday Strix!

Nightmarish new wrinkle in a project at work has me praying that the client's content management application can't be modified to actually accept the changes they sprang on us in a surprise gotcha meeting this morning. It'll be so much easier if we have to stick to the format/standards we've been working from the last few weeks.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Good news, msbelle!

On the Nancy Ann C. Yancy thing, I thought I remembered reading that there was an actual Nancy Ann Cianci, married to the governor of Rhode Island or something like that, but the internet seems to have differing opinions on whether or not that's an urban legend.

That's actually where our game came from. I just went with Yancy because it was there. I think we also had bits about hypnotism (trancy) and jousting (lancy). I wish I could remember how we worked them all into one convoluted sentence.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Okay, the peanut butter cookie recipe made with TJ's chocolate-almond spread instead of peanut butter does NOT work. The cookies all just spread out really thin over the pan and ran into each other and made one big uber-cookie, some of which did not bake through.

I guess the chocolate-almond spread is more oily, or something. Bummer.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm exhausted. I sent too many emails trying to explain that celebrating a youtube video of the MSL Rover as a sexbot isn't really appropriate for outreach or a noontime talk at my workplace. I'm unhappy.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Allyson, yet another depressing but not surprising turn of events. So much for encouraging women in the STEM fields.

I thought I was going crazy, but apparently I'm not the only one who emailed and called to say, WTF OMG HAVE YOU GONE MAD?
