I can't help--my favourite footwears are both my cowboy boots and my Docs steel toed Mary Janes and they were both second hand, and I feel I deserve new, but there seem to have been only two kinds of steel toed Mary Janes ever, and neither are current. Why does the world of fashion hate me???

Did I ever mention that my migraine doctor, who isn't recently Ethiopian, looks just like Mac? I think he traces back through Spain some time back...and Mac is probably his height by now too.

Really mild (as in I have just been putting up with it for a month and it hadn't bothered me much) and dental work are very unmixy things.
Target had some Doc-looking boots on their Facebook today that I bet are cheap, if you want to save money and/or get something more ridiculous.
I have so many black boots (neither cowboy nor Doc style), it is ridiculous. I got rid of a couple of pairs in the move, and now can really figure it out this winter.
I want Docs! Wouldn't sniff at cowboy boots either, come to think of it.
I want the 1460 8 hole pink ones and the 1490 10 hole oxblood or green ones.
I will also look at Target.
The ones at Traget seem to be the Kaliey ones and come in 4 colors of which I need silver.
I vote Docs. They last forever.

Emmett and I walked Matilda over to her school to see her class assignment. She got the nicest teacher! Last year this teacher's (Miss Ekta) first grade class was right next to our K on the blacktop during morning assembly, and I got to see her in action and she's super nice. Also, young and pretty. Which is moot except I do think young girls sometimes have crushes on their teachers.
I looked Miss Ekta up on LinkedIn - she went to Mumbai University, then UAE in Hudson, Ohio, then Teacher's College at Columbia University, then something else at Berkeley.
So very pleased with the teacher,
and
Matilda's best friend Sena will be in her class this year. As will her other close friends Norah, Isabella and Sophie. And almost all the other girls she likes (Eli, Davi, Rayna, Lucy) will be on her soccer team. Only her good friend Reese is missing to make it a perfect score for first grade.
