I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The ones at Traget seem to be the Kaliey ones and come in 4 colors of which I need silver.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I vote Docs. They last forever.

Matilda would vote for cowboy boots, though.

Emmett and I walked Matilda over to her school to see her class assignment. She got the nicest teacher! Last year this teacher's (Miss Ekta) first grade class was right next to our K on the blacktop during morning assembly, and I got to see her in action and she's super nice. Also, young and pretty. Which is moot except I do think young girls sometimes have crushes on their teachers.

I looked Miss Ekta up on LinkedIn - she went to Mumbai University, then UAE in Hudson, Ohio, then Teacher's College at Columbia University, then something else at Berkeley.

So very pleased with the teacher, and Matilda's best friend Sena will be in her class this year. As will her other close friends Norah, Isabella and Sophie. And almost all the other girls she likes (Eli, Davi, Rayna, Lucy) will be on her soccer team. Only her good friend Reese is missing to make it a perfect score for first grade.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, those.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay for Matilda.

Okay, guest room is done and habitable.

I'm feeling like next might be deck, and then shower, and then I can feel reasonable when I head to town to drop off cardboard recycling, check on the studio monitors, and grocer.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Try applying loud music, combat boots and red lipstick?

oooo. I like this plan. This plus chocolate vodka ought to solve all my little problems.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Here's today's vocabulary word:

age-tori

It's Japanese for "To look worse after a haircut."

More untranslatable words: Fuchsia Macaree

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Did you ever look at the pile of work in front of you and feel your soul wither and collapse?

Man, I'm trying to get work done, but my manager is out, and Sweet Fancy Moses, I'm spending half the day answering questions.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have to commit to a date to my boss later today. This is nigh impossible to guarantee, but he's passing the date up to his manager, and I'm going to be held highly responsible for fuckups.

But as I said to my manager--better to do it right than to do it on time.

I also made sure to say that in journaled email.

That is brilliant. We need that word!
