Who is responsible for the chimp feeding the baby tiger on Good Things? Because I literally just squeaked out loud when I saw it. The cute, it is too much. The chimp is so happy (in his little jean shorts)!
Jilli, those comments are toxic - don't torture yourself any more!
I was reading mostly for amusement, but yeah. And the "fat" comment doesn't even really bug me, but that's the point where I went "Okay, I'm out. You people are boring".
Awww, thanks Amy! Clicky-link: [link]
I think you look great, Jilli. My mom is your fan...she asks about Buffistas a lot, but she especially wants to hear about your stuff.
Oh my god. As someone who usually doensn't read the comments anywhere but Jezebel and io9 (or used to), I'm astounded by the stupid and the bitter and the toxic in the responses to that article. People really have nothing to do anymore but sit around and shit on other people's parades, do they?
Amy,
that's exactly right. a lot of dissatisfied, angry bitter people who have nothing better to do. I'd like to think these are all 16-year-olds, but I don't think so.
It's clearly more sensible not to reply, because I found about fifteen I wanted to shriek at right away. But I limited myself to one.

No, they don't. This is why I don't have comments turned on over at the GCS site, why I have anonymous comments disabled on Tumblr, and why I tell people in general that there is NOTHING worth having anonymous commenting enabled anywhere.
People are sad. It's also amazing to read those responses without thinking, all this grow up and dress right stuff? Who gives a shit? Life is short, you have to enjoy it while you're living it.
Heh, Amy; I did the same.
I did kind of perversely like the one that called Jilli's wardrobe the kind of completely generic stuff anyone can pick up at Hot Topic. And it's completely boggling how many people are saying about both her and Mohawk Guy, "Fine, dress that way, but don't blame anyone else for blowing the job interview and being unemployed!" when the whole point of the article is that they are employed and their employers are perfectly content with them.
