The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That's just shocking. I'm very sorry for your friend, lisah.

What Billytea said.

Condolences to Liese and Scrappy and their SOs as well.

It's always sudden.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Because, objectively, it should be fine.

Yeah, this. It really should be. This one particularly, it's totally part of the whole cycle of life deal. She was sick for a long time. My mother-in-law was spending a lot of time being her caregiver. Life will quantitatively be easier for lots of people now. And yet? Still hard.

Der. Rude and insensitive.

Nah, dude, you're fine. I totally get what you're saying, and you're right.

And yeesh, lisah, that's awful.

Oh my god, lisah. The whole thing is so awful and murky. I didn't know you knew him, I'm so sorry.

This is the story [link] Not a lot of info to go on.

This city sometimes....

Double crown appointment at 1. I swam hopped up on a pot of coffee and sudafed (my stupid mild congestion this summer leads to sneezing, which is something I'd like to avoid when they are carving up my teeth with sharp things,) have acquired bananas and tossed them into the freezer, ate a bowl of yogurt and blueberries and am hoping that will hold me until I'm able to eat again today. Fun times.

In much less important news, I got to spend 20 minuted this morning taking rocks out of the garbage disposal, because Bubba decided that the bamboo plant and the rock filled planter it was in my parents gave me as a house warming present would look better upside down in the sink.

sarameg - Aug 14, 2012 7:19:04 am PDT #18076 of 30001

Cats, man. Pumpkin just bounced off my shoulder because I had the temerity to no know she was making a leap to the sink. She's expressing her ire by walking up to Devi, who is SLEEPING in her cube, and hissing at her. She's being ignored.

I'm making sure I'm properly hydrated (I normally consume multiple liters of water throughout the day and won't be able to for the rest of the afternoon) and now I'm fearing I might need pee breaks. Oops.

At least with Bubba, breaking things is not followed by a trip to the vet, the way it tended with Perkins.

He also hasn't set himself on fire yet, so that's a plus.
