Whoa! I... I think I'm having a thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a thought. Now I'm having a plan. Now I'm having a wiggins.

I posted about that in Other Media, Scrappy. I'm so sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am going to wager that one of the reasons it takes a bit longer than IT GODDAMNED SHOULD to get my prescriptions filled at the Walgreens is because they force the pharmacist to call customers and ask how they're doing with their new meds. I've had three of the Wellbutrin pills so far...everything is just peachy, thanks.

The guy has no bedside manner at all. Everything sounds clipped and cursory, but damn it, he tries anyway. Just like when he "comforts" me about having to provide ID to get sleeping pills, or whatever. A for effort, pharmacy man.

He should meet the cluster of women at the non-franchise place near my pain doc. They're really empathetic--they're the ones that spent almost ten minutes looking for something that cut $75 off my prescription costs--they're the ones that sent me back to the doctor because they weren't sure I should be taking this dosage--never before had a pharmacist sent me back to the doctor to get stronger pain meds.

How did I knot know Uncle Joe was Joe Kubert? I'm sorry for your family's loss. Talk about a man who left his mark on his chosen profession. I'm sure his personal impact was felt by his loved ones even more.

He was one of the greats.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awww, Jeez, Scrappy I would've had a lot more questions for Jason when I saw him if I knew he had Joe Kubert in his family. One of my all-time favorite artists.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Scrappy, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I use "home" to refer to my actual place of residence, my parents' house where I grew up, and if we're on vacation, wherever our current home base happens to be.

This is me too. My sister and I still refer to the farmhouse where we grew up as "home", even though we haven't lived there since we left for college and we don't even own the place anymore. It's become mythical.

Yes, after reading through all weekend's posts, that's all I have to contribute. I spent the weekend cleaning and organizing my house with my sister's help, and I don't have enough energy left to even watch tv.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thanks, y'all. He really was a lovely person, as was his wife, Muriel. They had four great kids, and the family was very close. Three of the kids decided to live in Dover (N.J.), very close to Joe, and the other came to visit a lot. We saw them quite often when we lived in NYC. I visited the school a couple of times, but mostly we would go out to eat at their house, which had walls COVERED with great comic art. Like various comic illustrator friends drawing Joe as Superman, or a comic strip version by Sergio Aragones of a vacation trip Joe made with him and some other artists, which was very funny.
