Awww, Jeez, Scrappy I would've had a lot more questions for Jason when I saw him if I knew he had Joe Kubert in his family. One of my all-time favorite artists.

Oh, Scrappy, I'm so sorry.
Scrappy, I am so sorry.
Scrappy, I'm so sorry for your loss.
I use "home" to refer to my actual place of residence, my parents' house where I grew up, and if we're on vacation, wherever our current home base happens to be.
This is me too. My sister and I still refer to the farmhouse where we grew up as "home", even though we haven't lived there since we left for college and we don't even own the place anymore. It's become mythical.
Yes, after reading through all weekend's posts, that's all I have to contribute. I spent the weekend cleaning and organizing my house with my sister's help, and I don't have enough energy left to even watch tv.
Thanks, y'all. He really was a lovely person, as was his wife, Muriel. They had four great kids, and the family was very close. Three of the kids decided to live in Dover (N.J.), very close to Joe, and the other came to visit a lot. We saw them quite often when we lived in NYC. I visited the school a couple of times, but mostly we would go out to eat at their house, which had walls COVERED with great comic art. Like various comic illustrator friends drawing Joe as Superman, or a comic strip version by Sergio Aragones of a vacation trip Joe made with him and some other artists, which was very funny.
The hardest part is that Jason is on a motorcycle trip for Harley around Washington State this week and can't go to the funeral on Tuesday. He's really torn up about it.
So sorry, Scrappy.
Scrappy really sorry to hear this. And sorry that Jason is in a position where attending is impossible.
My condolences, Scrappy. Sorry to hear it.
I'm so sorry, Scrappy. My condolences to J, as well.
