Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My project this afternoon was repainting the bumper of my car that got scratched up when the screaming lady hit me a few weeks ago.

In my only car accident (literally just a fender-bender), I hit a Mini. Did more damage to my car than the Mini, which just had a broken tail light.

(The Mini pulled in front of me and stopped.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It is cracking my shit up that the secondary meeting we have tomorrow after the normal "ABC" meeting is now being called the Shadow "ABC" meeting by even the people who run it (they started off calling it the "ABC" 2), since I decided that we were the League of Shadows and referred to it as the Shadow meeting.

They have been caught in the dork undertow, and don't even know it.

brillig

Has anyone noticed the RC Minis on the track and field field? Apparently they're being used to run tapes to officials and return javelins and shots back to home. Hubby wishes very much that he was an Official Olympic RC Car Driver.

I'm way behind in movies, but they just hired some guy named Joss Whedon to direct the next Avengers movie.

Plus a Marvel TV show for ABC.

You know, I was kinda looking forward to the geeksplosion if for any reason Joss wasn't on Avengers 2, including by his own hand.

Damn, I hate not getting the train-wrecks my pettiness enjoys.

Hahaha. Sorry.

If the site said that login IDs were email addresses...well, I'd still have forgotten I'd made a custom ID for that purpose at first, but when I saw that the "lost username" email was going there, I might have worked it out.

Poopyheads.

Security officer gave the required biannual "Be afraid, be very afraid" presentation last week. There pretty much is no way to be sufficiently careful for a) the company and b) him. I usually have a week or so of guilt and false resolutions after these presentations. Still rolling around in it.

Another one of those articles that insists everyone has the Facebook, so if your prospective squeeze/employer can't find you, it's a red flag: [link] -- I can't work out if the author is serious (because clearly some people do believe that), or they're milking a convenient topic.

I emailed the developer who didn't catch the bug we set loose in production to ask what happened with her testing. I am going to assume I stressed her out, because I can't make head nor tail of her English. I am no more informed than before I asked. So it's no easier to defend her, and no harder to throw her under the bus (uh, which I have no intention of doing).

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I got online in '91, when I subscribed to GEnie(anyone else remember it?) I think I was on AOL around that time. Also poked around local BBSs. (Well, as much as I could with 2400 baud modem.)

I love my son. I love my son. I love my son. I will wake up at 2:30am to pick him up from the police station. Yes. My alarm is set. Two freaking thirty am in the morning. Maybe if I go to sleep now it won't feel like two freaking thirty am in the morning when I go get him.
