Gas makes me nervous

Gas also makes me nervous, and I hate gas ovens. The heat is uneven, which screws up baking. Also, you have combustion products indoors, which exacerbates asthma. At least the stoves without pilot lights emit less.

I much prefer gas to electric. I have not lived in a house with an electric stove in over 20 years either. It's one of the things that matters to me when we look for new places (another is water pressure).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm excited that I know someone who worked on it!

Ditto!!

Holy crap, that vaulter is 37. (The German originally from Uzbekistan, I mean.)

I love a gas cooktop, but prefer an electric oven. My dream kitchen has a gas cooktop with a grill and a hood that vents to the outside and two electric wall ovens.

When my parents redid their kitchen a while ago (when we moved into the house, the kitchen was about 8x8 feet, if that), they had a gas stove and electric oven put in. That's where I mostly learned to cook, so it's what seems right to me.

Yeah, that's bonkers. They were just saying how most of the girls only get one.

Technically originally from the USSR! She's like super human and her story is incredible.

If you haven't, all of you should read Chris Cleave's book Gold, which is about three Olympians, two of whom are married and raising a child who has cancer.
