Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I realized the shelf came with hardware! Which I had left at the store. Went back, and am victorious.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I showered and got dressed so that I would feel compelled to go out and run errands, which I didn't do yesterday.

I'm not sure that worked though.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Until I looked more closely at the 12-pack box, and realized it was a tie-in promo for The Dark Knight Rises, and had Batman on the box. Then I laughed FOREVER.

Hee! That's great.

No one at the new job has of yet done the drop-off of odd knicknacks to me, but I figure once Halloween goodies hit the mainstream stores, it'll happen. That's when it always happens.

Have you guys been following the Readercon harassment thing? They FINALLY came correct: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That way I can remember stuff like that without keeping Mountain Dew I won't drink, or dried flowers that eventually get crumbly and messy, or a deflated mylar balloon.

That works for things like that, but some things are tactile as much as visual. My little ceramic black panther that I bought in San Diego who has little flowers on him? A photo isn't the same as touching him. Touching him, I remember the friends who were with me, and the ambience of the place where I bought him.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

They FINALLY came correct:

I kind of figured the concom would overturn the Board's weak-ass decision. I also like that the entire Board resigned. Kind of the only thing they could do.

Also, about damn time.

Oh, I understand that. I will never get rid of the mobius loop Tim made me out of a random band of scrap metal. Seriously, when we have tornado/storm warnings bad enough to make me go to the basement, I grab a few things that I don't want to have to replace and I throw them in a bag -- medications, laptop, laptop backup had drive -- and I always include the mobius loop. It's just a damn piece of scrap metal. But not.

Because books.

What exactly happened at the con?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I haven't seen my tchotchkes in 5+ years. We knew when we moved in here that we'd have to put them away when the baby was born, so we just never bothered to unpack those boxes. Eventually we'll move to a bigger place and not have toddlers anymore, but in the meantime everything is still in storage.

Dylan was promoted in swim class today! I will never understand the YMCA class naming system though. In what universe is starfish a better swim level than pike? Starfish don't even move! But still, really really proud of him.

Maybe more arms = leveling up?
