Oh, I understand that. I will never get rid of the mobius loop Tim made me out of a random band of scrap metal. Seriously, when we have tornado/storm warnings bad enough to make me go to the basement, I grab a few things that I don't want to have to replace and I throw them in a bag -- medications, laptop, laptop backup had drive -- and I always include the mobius loop. It's just a damn piece of scrap metal. But not.

I haven't seen my tchotchkes in 5+ years. We knew when we moved in here that we'd have to put them away when the baby was born, so we just never bothered to unpack those boxes. Eventually we'll move to a bigger place and not have toddlers anymore, but in the meantime everything is still in storage.

Dylan was promoted in swim class today! I will never understand the YMCA class naming system though. In what universe is starfish a better swim level than pike? Starfish don't even move! But still, really really proud of him.

What exactly happened at the con?

All of my information is at least second-hand, but some guy was harassing a woman who reported it, and instead of banning him forever like their policy says, they gave him a two year probation. In the meantime, another woman reported that he had harassed her, but that got no response. The shady part is that the zero-tolerance policy had apparently been put into place to get rid of a specific creepy guy no one liked, and this most recent harasser is some con bigshot. So.

Starfish move, but they crawl and they don't swim.

Maybe more arms = leveling up?
