I am taping the Olympics because Franny totally wants to see it. And I can recall being a young girl myself and how they always went on long after my bedtime.

Skipping all over, missing yesterday completely, and therefore a whole day late in noting, according to the Buffista Calendar, a double Buffista-anniversary: both Aims and Miracleman's, as well as Scrappy and her DH's. Belated wishes for all of them, for a wonderful year together!

Also, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Deena's birthday. Happy birthday, Deena! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Also also, since I'm worried about the missing-days-of-internet-connection pattern that occurs around here lately, I'll already post that according to the Buffista Calendar, Sunday, the 5th, will be Fred Pete's birthday, and send lots of early wishes for him already!

I have missed most of the Olympics except by print which is sort of fun. I catch some videos after the fact, for sure.

So why are the team USA podium outfits GRAY? The National flag has, like, three totally serviceable colors that work together rather nicely. Gray is not one of them. Plus, they look like something you'd toss on for a hike in the rain. Who is responsible for that choice?

I dunno, but I'm guessing Ralph Lauren. Nike. Article here: [link] From a shit we can sell perspective, it does make sense. I'm more likely to buy a gray jacket than a white one.

Why is hot pink a big color in this Olympics? The UK too has the same serviceable colors and the hot pink is a damn eyesore.

I have been TiVOing all the broadcasts and am at least 1 day behind.

I am also tired as a tired thing that is tired. stupid dreams of nothing important but nonsense that I swear keeps my brain active all night.

Tonight I have coffee with a friend though and that will be good.

oh oh oh and at work yesterday I talked a bit with another department that will have an opening either by the end of this year or beginning of next. seemed receptive and to understand without me having to say much exactly why a move would be good.

I agree that a blocky red white and blue pattern might stop people from buying it because they don't want to look too much like the flag (this is absolutely never a problem with Jamaica's black, green, and gold, FTR, but I have not seen what our athletes jacket up in this year--but Puma sells our colours deliberately year round, and I see them on the streets both in LA and Jamaica)--however, the patch on the front is illegible from more than a few feet away, and jury's out on the back, since that evidence has not gone in front of the court.

But couldn't there be some sort of a compromise, of a mostly-grey jacket, but with distinctive red, white, and blue trim that is visible both on the back and front? I mean, you guys do still like your flag, don't you?

My TV is showing me ten-day old clouded leopard cubs. I approve.

There's a character named Zoe in Suits, and it's weirding me out seeing Gina Torres call someone that. Jessica couldn't be less like Zoe (except that they're totally amazing and rock), but I still get whiplash.

Hey ita, the CBC did a mini doc on why Jamaica is so dominant in track and field. (I have to admit, I only watched the beginning, it came on as I was going to bed.)
