My swimming is all over the place. Some days when it feels hard, my times are shit. Or it was hard because I was hellbent. There are relevant correlations. Sometimes, sleep matters, sometimes not. Where I am in my cycle seems to be a trend, as is slight fluctuations in weight (I drop a few, my times go up and then start sinking.) I'm still not hitting the times I had before Spain. I'm not sure if that's the sudden weight drop or if I lost good turns and haven't figured that out yet.

I like the swims where I end up marveling at how well my body is working, and in my head, I'm a clockworks. Where I'm not fussing about the turns, stroke or kick, it just works. I usually get at least a handful of those laps any given day. But even when I don't, and every lap unearths a frustration, I still feel good by the end of it. Even if the times are shit. Disappointing, but I've worked something out, even if it was only 50-70 minutes in my own head.

With swimming it's always a struggle. It never feels easy. Sometimes it's a mosquito level buzz of irksomeness, some days it's a colicky baby level of irksomeness.

With the bike, though? I can watch my revolutions, my distance and my heartrate and some mornings everything feels heavy. Some days, not so much. It's kinda cool.

I've been doing way more bike lately because I can watch the olympics there (we don't have any non-hulu TV and no cable) and also because I can read on the bike which is AWESOMECAKES!

What I came home to today: [link]

I feel like the house has been christened, somehow.

Also, there's a reason I named him Bubba.

I think my worst days are mosquito-buzz. It's very zen-making for me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, cat.

Uh, I've seen that scene before. Uh huh. Also with a bottle of juice. Thankfully not at the same time.

OH! I got a waterproof iPod Shuffle and waterproof earbuds. The earbuds sound like shit out of the water but are awesome in. It's distracting more than relaxing at this point, but still fun.
