She's our new manager. I've been waiting for the mutiny since about a month after she came on board.

Oh dear.
I'm sorry, Dana. Biyi has had similar issues with one of the interpreting agencies. Because she had the temerity to approach a client directly (to recommend that interpreters be given hearing topics ahead of time), this agency went completely off the deep end, culminating in them calling her to claim that the client had taken out a restraining order against her. Because restraining orders are always served over the phone by a third party with no law enforcement capacity.
To brighten everyone's day, I offer this baby wombat: [link]

This is not nearly on the same scale, but it is that kind of thing.

Wow, that's... really ridiculous. Have some fucking perspective, people.
Okay, I give up. I can't finish this letter tonight, and if I don't leave the building in the next 11 minutes, they lock the doors and I have to go across to the other building and out the back way, which is a pain. The rest of this will have to wait until Wednesday. I am on vacation!
Man, Sutton Foster is a year older than I am. I have a year to win two Tonys. And learn how to dance.
Maybe warm up with a Grammy?
Watching professionals do the breaststroke (or any stroke, really) fascinates me. Some are choppy, some are smooth. Some all power and muscle, so evident, some effortless looking.
200m in under 2:20. That would take me over 4 minutes. Crawl. Breaststroke more like 5 or 6.

This is me! Or longer if I'm really not feeling it.
Since we have moved, I've been going to the gym every day, pretty much. One of the things that is interesting to me is how different each day is. Each day is NEW and some days are good and smooth and some days are shit. This is less with swimming but with riding the bike. Some days on the bike are absolute slow going agony and some days, the exact time etc are fine. It's the weirdest thing.
Today was yoga and I am noticing all of the ways I'm not as bendy as I used to be. It's depressing. We did hanamanasana (also known as the splits) and I can still do them, except not with my back leg bent at a right vertical angle (thigh stretch style). DEPRESSING. Not to mention my hamstrings are like, "Fuck you and your bike riding lady. You cannot bend that way anymore."
On the plus side, I got my refill for ambien today. WOO HOO!
