I would happily stock my shelves with these or these, but either set only comes in 3 colours I'd like (and white), not 4. So I'd probably do 2 and 2, which thrills me less than one of each.
This is a nice set, but it only comes in the one colour. Still, it's a colour I could live with.
These are also nice for a full set, but I don't know if square format cereal/soup bowls would drive me batshit or not. These are a nice alternative, without the square issue.

They annoy me. Square plates too. It's just wrong. I bought one square soup bowl and I use it for collecting small things on the kitchen counter.
I like the feel of Mikasa, nice on the fingertips.
I actively like the square plates, and square bowls are okay for me, but you gotta watch out for square mugs. Those things can be pretty mean if you're not paying attention.

Have you whacked yourself in the teeth with a square mug, Liese?
I think my mom has Fiesta mugs in all the colors.

No, but I have poured coffee down my shirt by trying to drink from the flat side instead of a corner.

See, that would be a problem for me. I don't need a steep learning curve on an item I've been successfully using my whole life. At this point in my life, I want to be profitably applying the things I've learned, not re-learning how to drink from a big-kids' cup.

Yeah. It's round for a reason.
I have never thought about square mugs, but there are so many ways they would go wrong for me.
