A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

OOOOH, fun! JEALOUS!

Oh, hey, btw (email me if you want privacy) I MAY be flying the kiddo into Raleigh, possibly.

Who's in that area, and if I DO end up flying him there to his grandmother's, any Buffistas in town? I'd be happy to arrange a flight back for the next day iffn anyone would want to see me and let me crash.

Like I said, we don't know yet, but I'm pretty sure there are Buffistas in the area.

Smart people can be stupid too

(delurking briefly because apparently I care about dishes)

I recently picked these over the Sophie Conran ones Sue linked which I also really liked. They are less interesting but also much cheaper (and we needed a lot due to big family).

I like having matchy mugs but totally understand the feeling that they're a waste, we have a million mugs from all over (souvenirs, gifts, craft projects etc.) but I like using them for cereal and soup and drink lots of tea (At least that's how I justify).

(and now back to my regular scheduled lurking) Edit: fixed lazy typos

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, that ad for Mike's Hard Lemonade is disturbing.

My pain doctor asked me if anyone had told me I looked like Obama. He was surprised when I said no. And then told me he had issues with Obama. I'm still covered by the Hippocratic Oath, right?

I have discovered that my teakettle doesn't boil water so much as heats its content to the temperature of the last pot of tea it brewed. Which is cool when I leave tea in it for a while. Confusing to work around with the whole boiling water thing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Aims! If you have free time to grab a beverage or something, please let me know.

Dishes are dishes. Mugs are mugs. Different things, typically used at different times. There's no reason they need to match, or even should. (Now I have Nina Garcia in my head going off on matchy-matchy.) Maybe once in a while you'll want them to coordinate, but that's about it. Plus, you probably have more than enough mugs to begin with.

It's like if every time you bought new shoes, they came with a matching purse.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Heya, Strix. I live in the Raleigh area (half an hour from the main Raleigh airport). I'll be up in MI from 8/4-8/13, but my spare room's totally available otherwise.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

You don't look anything like Obama. You are both attractive, and both Black, and that does not make you look anything alike. I mean Dolly Parton and Goldie Hawn are both (nominally in Parton's case) blonde, and both attractive but I don't think anyone thinks they look alike.

Art Crawl!!!

I went out to run an errand and grab a bite to eat and when I came back there was no cat yelling about how starving she is.

I keep thinking I'm okay and I'm just not.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been wanting new dishes, and hadn't thought of Amazon, so that's interesting -- I am so cheap, anything I see in a decent store seems SO EXPENSIVE. I'm pretty sure I got my current dishes from msbelle.

I have figured out that I can take at least a half-day on Thursday and hopefully get Homer back into the vet. I mean, I guess? Not sure what they'll do for him there.

Aw, sumi, of course you aren't. You'll be sad for a good long while. And, I imagine, looking for Tanuki.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aims! If you have free time to grab a beverage or something, please let me know.

We are coming in Friday night and doing the Con on Saturday and then going home that night, but if you wanted to come up and go grab lunch or something near the convention center, that would be awesome! We are going with the same cousins that I went to DC with last year - I think they would be totally amused to meet more Buffistas in a whole nother city!

Also - James Marsters is going to be there as is Colin F! ita - want me to wave at him for you?
