Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, I am not used to Friday deployments. Totally forgot to notify the business unit they were next up on the task list. I'm more used to the crazy Sunday morning ones. No serious harm done, but I don't look good in front of the customer, and it just makes my team look sloppy. I've been obsessing about the squeaky wheel so much. Rookie mistake.

Gnargh. Sent out the grovelling post to the business users. I am too old to make mistakes, man, I swear. Which reminds me--let me go set my alarm clock for 11:50, so I'm up for the deployment Sunday morning. I have a lot of thumb twiddling in my early morning future. If only I could do it on dilaudid...

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You have had a shit ton on your plate, lately, ita. It's no wonder some things get dropped. But hey, if it ended up clean, then no worries. Worry about the stuff that ends up wrong.

Man, I am all sarameg about my neighborhood right now. I just got home yesterday and texted my friend, and we spontaneously went to the farmers' market today, where I knew about half the vendors. Haul: greens, peppers, onions, eggplant, carrots. Then I ran errands (so I'm grateful to my friend for getting me out of the house, because I suspect it would have been pretty easy for me to hit stasis, sitting at home alone) and got a bunch of stuff done. Then on my way home, there was a truck pulled over at the side of the road and as I passed, he pointed out his window...where there was a herd of pronghorn antelope.

I love so much that I live in a place where I can regularly see such awesome wildlife, but I love even more that I live in a place where people not only appreciate the wildlife, but want other people to be able to appreciate it, too.

And it's monsoon! So it's lovely and cool and rainy and green! I am super happy to be home. Okay, now, dinner.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm willing to swear that no one is too old to make mistakes. Sorry.

I'm like 3/4 packed? Ish? Of course I'm already doing things like packing my ice cream scoop and immediately buying ice cream! But I do still have spoons.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Congratulations, Tom! That is awesome!
