Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

brillig

I decided not to watch the opening ceremonies--but I can hear them from the living room--because I despise commentators so much.

I remember Jim McKay. I remember watching him in '72, when he said he'd been pulled from the pool and still had his swim trunks on under his suit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is that Matt Damon for TD Ameritrade?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

You could watch this with the sound off and not really miss anything.

The little girls in white dresses and white gloves, carrying big bowls - they seem to be walking along with all the flag bearers. What's that about?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Btw, erika, Jim McKay began his career as a police reporter with the Baltimore Sun in 1946. Covered the Western District.

Copper bowls engraved with the country name and Olympic logo, I think?

I think he said kettles?

Also, I like the tidbits!

Because books.

I think Danny Boyle was tripping balls when he wrote this, but I sort of liked it. Rowan Atkinson was awesome, and the beds that made the moon. And Mary Poppins, of course.

The pop music thing was way too long, but pretty cool, although I still don't understand who Frankie and June are.

I can't believe we're only on C in the parade of nations.

Kettles, bowls, vessels...

I love that the Czechs came with wellies and umbrellas. Heeheee!
