Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was just a massive asshole to a co-worker, but I'm finding I don't even care. I've been pushing and pushing to get this development completed so we can motherfucking test it in time to deploy on Sunday. We need to have a quality assurance signoff on it before we can go into production. QA is in India, so they can work tonight, send us a signoff, and have that in our pockets tomorrow morning, good to go. But tonight is the last possible night.

I go to check the app, to see if it's ready for QA, and none of the links bring up anything. I ask the developer why not, and he tells me that the guy who left three hours ago told him he wasn't going to be able to load the content today.

"Okay, then," I tell him. "If you'd needed my help, you'd have told me about this sooner. So clearly, you have a plan. What is the plan?"

He let me stare at him for almost two minutes before I said "There's no point. We can't do anything more today. He can upload the content tomorrow, and we can see what we work out then."

"If you need my help, you can call me..."

Need your help with what, exactly? Bollixing something else up? I think I'm fine. I was pretty good at the old bollix myself before you got here, but you're making me look like quite the amateur.

And, one of the *two* tasks he put his name next to in the email where I asked people to step up--I'm just noticing he hasn't done. So, other guy? Could not have loaded content if he'd wanted to.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know this couldn't be further from the point, but I'm annoyed at how easy the Spelling Bee words are on last night's Necessary Roughness.

Folks, do we have a recommended food consumption tracking app for iPhone? mr. flea wants to pay more attention to his eating, and I know a gadget-oriented method would help him. Bonus points if it has Rube Goldberg machines.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So the drop-off of the parent's car that I damaged the bumper on did not go so great. No yelling from them or anything like that, but they are distressed at how stressed out I am.

Apparently I have been fragile since I graduated college. My mom says there is a pattern that 6 months into jobs things like this happen. Things like I get a bad review or am suddenly so stressed I hate the job or or something. Then there was the hand wringing because I have 10 more years of this much stress (mac is 11) and how in the world am I going to make it. And goodness no I cannot pay them for the damage I caused because they don't think I even have the money. Oh and by the way have I done that report that is overdue to the adoption agency, and when is my next dr. appt, because it sure seems like I need more or different meds, and is this caregiver person I am trying out stable and ok?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

We are home from blood donations and running errands. The folks in the blood-mobile were SO nice. CJ did great. Pictures are up on FB. Everyone there, from the people working it to the others donating thanked him for coming in. He was tickled to white chedder Cheese-Its and a shirt (they actually had nice blue shirts this time). We have made appointments for late September to try to make this a habit.

Oh msbelle. Sorry for the stress over the stress causing more stress. I know it is a parent's job to worry about your kid and all that, but chill out parents of msbelle.

Because books.

Yikes, msbelle. I'm sorry they're making it harder. Not helpful, msbelle's parents.

Yay for donating blood, Suzi! I never have, but my dad did routinely for years. I don't think my iron is high enough right now, and I've always wondered about meds -- are there meds that make you ineligible?

There are some, but not many, I don't think.

Happy Bday, Kat!

So the universe+facebook are making me think I live in some weird vortex of connections: I commented on bon's post. A friend of hers commented as well, who I don't know. FB helpfully noted she's also a friend of a newly met friend (K) here in Baltimore. Who I met through my roommate from Prague when she was out visiting. They're from Boise, went to high school together. Totally different circle of friends than my buffista friends. But it gets better! We found out, fairly recently, that our suitemate in Prague, J, was K's on-and-off gf while we were in Prague (kinda off since she was never mentioned and J was dating a guy there, which K didn't know about.) How bizarre is that?

Add to that lisah and I's crossed paths over the years before meeting, my friend down the street who co-taught for years with one of my favorite people in my hall in college....and don't even get started on the astro-incestry.

And I've made it even crazier because now my Prague roommate friend has struck up friendships (some just fb, some correspondence between their two girls) with some of my neighbors....
