Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So who knew Sally Ride was a lesbian?

I didn't know until I heard her obit on public radio and they mentioned her longtime partner.

Sullivan discusses: America's First Woman In Space Was A Lesbian

information libertarian

I noticed the NASA statement on her death mentioned family survivors but not her partner.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I didn't know until I heard her obit on public radio and they mentioned her longtime partner.

I didn't know that either, but apparently they've been together since the early 80s.

I did see it noted this morning that her partner will, of course, not receive any death benefits as an opposite sex spouse would.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Not an Onion headline: Man in goat suit seen living among goats in Utah mountains

Extreme furry!

NASA could at least recognize the existence of Sally Ride's partner.

Extreme furry!

Oh, that just took me to a very "ew" place.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I bought my brother a t-shirt from Tee Fury a couple of weeks ago, and when it was delivered (to my house) Tim read the label and was all, "What the hell? Tee FURRY?"

My response? "Dude, they don't wear t-shirts."

I'm going to have to find another area where he can get comfortable driving before having to deal with speed and traffic at the same time.

Cemeteries! That's where my mom taught me--lots of turns to negotiate, plus getting used to other cars at a slow speed before having to deal with them at higher speeds.

I think you mean "ewe."

Snerk, Hec.

Good idea Polgara. I know where one cemetery is. I think.

Thanks for the ideas. When I taught K-Bug, we had the empty Naval Air Station. Ok, not totally empty, but very minimal traffic and lots of roads, stops, turns, parking lots.
